感恩節前在Red Rock教了四天的大牆課程。

已經很久沒教大牆課程了，主要原因是大牆課程是進階課程，不是那麼好招生。大牆課程要求學生有相當的傳攀能力，且有多繩距攀登的經驗。要不然很難理解並吸收大牆課程中許多的技術元件。四天並不是很長的時間，一般目標都是以The Nose路線為假想敵，給予學生所有必要的工具，課程後若是持續練習操作，絕對登頂有期。（關於大牆課程的內容，可以參考拙作《上吧！玩攀全攻略》第15和16章。）

也因為如此，課程結束後，我給予學生最後的勉勵Keep practicing, then the hardest part of climbing a big wall is leaving the ground。意指只要願意離地，登頂是沒有什麼問題的。爬成熟的大牆路線，其實沒有大多的未知。準備充分，一步一腳印，實在沒有理由登不了頂。但是在未離地前繩隊可以對該條路線有太多的想像，也許這兒會出錯，也許那兒會不對勁，愈想愈多疑慮，而尚未離地時要放棄太容易了，所以決定回家再多練習。大牆夢依舊是牆上的那張海報。

覺得自己準備尚不充分，進入新領域前的猶豫，這我也有，能舉得例子太多了。誰不害怕？但總得踏出第一步。雖然第一步甚至到第十步都不甚完美，搞不好到了整個project結束了，都覺得自己的表現都不盡完美。但似乎都比第零步好多了。當然不是鼓勵毫無準備，暴虎馮河的衝。但既然準備了，不試試看怎麼衡量自己的準備究竟夠不夠呢？
